Jim Boulger, PhD, is the Memory Keepers Medical Discovery Team Rural Advisor. Jim is widely known for his experience and expertise in rural health, rural health personnel needs, medical education and research mentoring with medical students.

He is Distinguished University Teaching Professor Emeritus in the Department of Family Medicine and Biobehavioral Health, the University of Minnesota Medical School, Duluth Campus. Dr. Boulger was the director of the Family Medicine Preceptorship Program and the co-director of the Rural Medical Scholars Program. Jim provides knowledge and expertise to the CERDAR research program and more broadly to the MDT in its strategic planning concerning rural health, and rural medical education.
