About the Job
Job Title: Researcher 5 – Senior Research Associate
Memory Keepers Medical Discovery Team (MK-MDT) conducts research on dementia caregiving in partnership with Indigenous and rural communities in the Great Lakes Region. Our modern facilities have been thoughtfully constructed to foster team science approaches to research. The MK-MDT works collaboratively with faculty investigators from the Department of Family Medicine and Biobehavioral Health, and academic and community research partners in the US and Canada. This position will report to the Associate Director and will be assist with Indigenous dementia caregiving projects.
Responsibilities
Project coordination and research activities (75%)
• Coordination and management of research project timelines and deliverables
• Provide project management assistance to PI
• Attend research team and community meetings, take notes, and track project tasks, deliverables
• Other administrative duties as needed
Qualitative data collection, analysis, and dissemination
• Assume a lead role in preparing research proposals, grant applications, and Tribal and University IRB applications
• Prepare and deliver community and academic presentations
• Collaboratively develop research articles for publication
• Collaboratively develop community newsletters and other community documents for dissemination
• Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and community partners to support the MK-MDT vision of healthy dementia caregivers, culturally responsive dementia caregiver educations and training, and culturally grounded and responsive interventions.
Community Engagement (25%)
• Assist in recruitment and screening of research participants (Indigenous dementia caregivers)
• Coordinate and facilitate research meetings with research staff and community partners
• Track and report project activities and update research team and community partners
• Prepare briefing notes, background reports, presentations, and other meeting materials for community partner meetings
• On-going community engagement activities to support research collaborations with community partners
• Serve on committees as requested representing the MK-MDT
Qualifications

Required qualifications
• Advanced degree with 1 or more years of research experience in caregiver research, interventions, and training and education programs
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Ability to travel, including overnight, to locations in Minnesota and to national and international conferences
Preferred qualifications
• PhD in Health Science, Public Health, Neuro/Clinical/Community Psychology, Social Sciences
(Medical Sociology, Medical Anthropology, American Indigenous Studies, or Community Health) or other Health Related Discipline
• Experience with community-based research principles
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a research role
